CF-2016-974

Megan Kramer is headed to prison for 22 years for getting behind the wheel of her car while drunk and on drugs.   August 22, 2015 Kramer drove the wrong way down Highway 412 into Mark Alderman then into another vehicle.  Alderman was killed; the other people Kramer hit  were not badly injured.  Kramer was in a coma for a time after the crash.

Kramer’s son told investigators he begged his mother not to drive that night and even tried to stop her by taking her keys but she got them back and drove, anyway.

Alderman’s widow, daughter, son and daughter-in-law all gave victim impact statements prior to the judge handing down Kramer’s sentence.  All spoke of the big, loving, part Mark Alderman filled in his family, for his friends and in the entire community.  The family was pleased with the judge’s sentence and feel a weight has been lifted knowing Kramer faces a long time in prison.

In December Kramer will get a judicial review when the judge will decide whether to suspend any of her prison sentence.
