Community Leaders Step Out On “Walk to School Day”

11 Oct Community Leaders Step Out On “Walk to School Day”

The Big Event

Rogers County District Attorney Matt Ballard is an accomplished marathon runner but on Wednesday October 11 he joined other community leaders and students to take a short stroll for a big event.

Healthy Kids

The Rogers County Volunteers for Youth organized Claremore community leaders, parents and students to step up and step out on “National Walk or Bike to School Day”.

Studies show students who exercise enjoy a lot of benefits from it incoluding better sleep and better grades.  Physical activity does a body good by boosting blood flow to the brain and the rest of the body.

Healthy Communities

Beyond mental and physical health benefits the event aims to bring awareness to the importance of neighborhood safety and community involvement.
