Man Sentenced for Locking a Little Boy in a Dog Crate and Sexual Abuse on a Girl

23 Jul Man Sentenced for Locking a Little Boy in a Dog Crate and Sexual Abuse on a Girl

Rogers County CF-2014-202

Jonathan Lee must remain on the sex offender registry for life and was sentenced to 27 years in prison after entering a blind plea* for child abuse by injury and sexual abuse of a child.

During his sentencing on July 23, 2014 the Judge said there is no excuse for Lee’s actions and called them “heinous, outside the confines of what a civilized world accepts.”

Lee locked the four-year-old boy in a metal dog cage for up to 14 hours a day either during naptime, during the night or as a form of discipline.

Lee also sexually abused a 14 year old girl.

The Judge’s sentence:
30 years in prison for the Child Abuse by Injury charge
30 years in prison, 3 years suspended, for the sexual abuse

* A blind plea is when a defendant admits guilt to the judge and the judge decides on sentencing.
