A Rogers County Judge sentences Roman Medrano to life in prison for the first degree murder of Rafael Hernandez-Torres.

Investigators solved the murder using cell phone data between the victim and his killer.

Medrano lured Torres to a remote location, shot him multiple times in the back, shoved him into the trunk of his taxi and pushed the vehicle into a body of water.

In his Pre-Sentence Investigation Medrano told the DOC investigator “I don’t even know really… we did, did this monstrosity that we did.”
In June Adan Mora-Romas was sentenced to 15 years in prison for accessory to the first degree murder of Torres.

Medrano further claimed he acted out of jealousy claiming he believed Torres might have made an advance on Medrano’s wife however investigators never uncovered any evidence to support the excuse.
