21 Jun Man Sentenced to 23 Years in Prison for Abusing His Girlfriend and Their Infant
CF-2023-243
Claremore, OKLA June 21, 2024 – District Attorney Matt Ballard’s office filed four criminal counts:
Count #1. Child Abuse
Count #2. Child Neglect
Count #3. Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation
Count #4. Extortion
Keith Jejuan Rohrbach (DOB 8/24/1993) was sentenced to 23 years in prison today by Judge Stephen Pazzo in Rogers County. Pazzo was presiding over Rohrbach’s jury trial when Rohrbach suddenly decided to put his fate in the judge’s hands (blind plea) rather than see what the jury would say he should get for abusing his girlfriend and their 4-month-old daughter. Rohrbach put a sudden stop to the trial right after his adult victim took the stand and testified.
An investigator testified at today’s sentencing that Rohrbach was very surprised Katlyn Quillman testified. Rohrbach had been pressuring her, through a third party, not to testify.
Quillman said the domestic started because Rohrbach got upset because Quillman cared more about their baby girl than she did about him. He was also angry about the brand of diapers Quillman bought.
The fight turned physical when Rohrbach grabbed and strangled Quillman who was holding the baby. She managed to get away briefly and as she tried to escape with the baby Rohrbach grabbed her by the hair and slammed her onto the couch where he beat her and also hit the baby girl in the face. At that point, Rohrbach grabbed the baby, went into another room, and refused to return the child until Quilman sent him $800 which she did.
Still, it wasn’t until officers arrived that Rohrbach finally gave the baby back to Quillman.
Before the judge handed down his sentence, Quillman gave her victim impact statement saying “You were supposed to be our protector but instead I was protecting us from you. Now I realize how strong I am and how happy and healthy (juvenile victim) is and how amazing we are doing just the two of us.”
Rohrbach will be sentenced next week for additional charges relating to this case. Those charges include intimidating a witness (Quillman), violating a protective order she placed against him, and stalking her.
Rohrbach will not be eligible for parole until the winter of 2043.
