Rogers County CF-2013-599

Rachel Lunsford of Claremore agreed to immediately pay back $16,607.17 to local Boy Scout Troop #238 as part of her sentence.

Lunsford entered a blind plea* leaving the Judge to decide her punishment.

The Judge handed down a 54 month deferred sentence, 400 hours of community service, court fines and fees, supervised probation and ten days to make full restitution.

A spokesperson for the Boy Scout Troop stated Lunsford “…wrote checks to herself, her family and for cash.  The total was over $16,000.”

Lunsford was serving as the treasurer for the troop at the time.

The spokesperson expressed relief at the resolution and the fact the money will be returned, in full, allowing the boys to continue their scouting experiences right away.

* A blind plea is when a defendant admits guilt to the judge and the judge decides on sentencing.
