03 Feb District Attorney Leads Drive Benefiting Children’s Advocacy Center
CRAIG, MAYES & ROGERS COUNTIES, Okla., January 30, 2014 – The community is invited to join in a house warming drive to collect needed items as a way of celebrating the new facility for the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC).
Holly Webb, Children’s Advocacy Center Executive Director says, “This will help the CAC continue to provide services to children suspected to be victims of abuse. We invite the community to our open house on February 10th from 4-6pm.”
Since 2001 the Children’s Advocacy Center has served children and families from Craig, Mayes and Rogers counties. Last year, alone, the agency provided services to 346 children.
The CAC’s mission is to provide a safe and child-friendly facility for coordinated intervention in child abuse cases. Among its many services the Center provides on-site medical exams and forensic interviews. There’s also mental health treatment and advocacy for victims of abuse and neglect.
In the week leading up to the Children’s Advocacy Center’s open house celebrating its new facility several area grocery stores are partnering with the District Attorney’s office to sponsor a drive for donations from the Center’s wish list.
