The Association of Oklahoma Narcotic Enforcers (A-ONE) awarded Chief Criminal Prosecutor Tony Evans with its Prosecutor of the Year award during the Association’s Annual Conference Banquet last night.
District Attorney Matt Ballard says “This is a huge award and acknowledgement from Law Enforcement of Tony’s skill and dedication to justice. When I was first taking office getting Tony on the team was a top priority because of his experience, excellent relationship with those who protect and serve our communities and his leadership abilities.”
Tony has been a prosecutor in Oklahoma since 2005.
Here are a few of the highlights presented by A-ONE last night of Tony’s prosecutorial career so far:
Tony Evans is the chief criminal prosecutor for Rogers County.
In addition to leading the criminal prosecutors, he prosecutes all major drug cases including Operation Medusa, a seventeen defendant methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.
In the last year, Tony has prosecuted four drug related first degree murder cases, vehicular homicides involving narcotics, a ten pound methamphetamine trafficking case investigated by DEA, while also prosecuting more than twenty additional trafficking cases, over forty manufacturing cases, over fifty distribution cases, and hundreds of possession cases.
Tony is a regular instructor for A-ONE, including the summer drug prosecutor school, and in the last year has written articles for the A-ONE magazine as well as a national interdiction publication.
He also regularly fields assistance calls from prosecutors and officers throughout Oklahoma and has been active in A-ONE since 2008.
