Charlee Adams (DOB 12/06/92)

A Craig County jury finds 24 year old Charlee Adams guilty of accessory to first degree murder and robbery.  The jury recommends he be sentenced to 35 years in prison; 25 years for accessory to murder and 10 years for robbery.

Adams and Chelsea Raulston had been staying with the victim, 83 year old Velma Bennett, up until the night of the murder.  Bennett had been trying to help the pair by feeding them and giving them a place to stay.

The investigation showed Bennett was beaten so severely the first officer on scene thought she’d been shot in the head.

Raulston was sentenced in February to life in prison for murder plus thirty years for robbing Bennett.  Adams is scheduled for sentencing June 30, 2017.

Bennett’s daughters described their mom as a kind-hearted, energetic woman who loved animals and tried to help everyone around her.  She is deeply missed.
