Chance Carl Barrett

Chance Barrett (DOB: 4/29/1998) is sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years for the cold-blooded murder of Claremore woman Helen Pasdach and other crimes including burglary, distributing drugs and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Prosecutors noted the additional crimes were discovered by officers during the investigation of Pasdach’s murder which happened in August of 2017.

First Assistant District Attorney Brian Surber says “This was one of the most callous murders we’ve ever seen and Barrett shows a complete lack of remorse.  After causing the horrendous suffering and death of this wonderful lady, Helen Pasdach, Barrett ate a piece of candy out of the bowl right next to her dead body and later laughed about it.”

Multiple Rogers County jail inmates came forward to recount the confessions and details of the crime Barrett told them.

Both first degree murder and first degree burglary are 85% crimes meaning 85% of the life sentence then 85% of the 20 year sentence must be served before Barrett can even begin to be eligible for release.  He will be 75 years old at that time.
