On July 30, 2014 a Mayes County jury found William Wilkerson guilty of murder.
The jury deliberated for just 50 minutes before coming back with the guilty verdict and a sentence of life in prison without parole for killing his mother, Susan Wilkerson, in 2012.
The evidence showed Wilkerson and his mother got into an argument and the man tried to strangle, then stab, the woman. She died from the knife wounds inflicted by her son.
