George Thomas of Inola was sentenced to prison time followed by probation and time in the county jail for a host of crimes including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, stalking in violation of a court order and harassment by phone or other electronic communication.  Thomas spent 474 days in the Rogers County Jail awaiting the adjudication of his case and received credit for time served in his sentence.

His ex-wife says she lives in fear of Thomas who targeted her and other family members.

Thomas entered pleas of guilty and no contest to 18 counts in all and court made findings of guilt in all cases.

The Assistant District Attorney on the case, Edith Singer, says  ““We are pleased that the sentence in this case reflects the serious nature of these crimes and that the victim’s voice was clearly heard by the Court.  We are also thankful that our request for electronic monitoring of Thomas upon his release from prison was granted.  We believe that requirement is absolutely necessary for the victim’s safety and peace of mind.”

Once on probation Thomas cannot have any contact with the victim or members of her family and will be placed on electronic monitoring.  Based on a psychological evaluation Thomas must also receive mental health treatment.
